The American Ecological Engineering Society is accepting abstracts for presentations at their 18th Annual Meeting under the theme Ecological Engineering: Addressing Uncertainty in a Dynamic World hosted by Texas A&M Agrilife, June 12-14, 2018. We welcome abstracts of research and applications in the field of ecological engineering as they pertain to the built and natural environment as viewed from an integrative perspective of scientists, practitioners, policy makers, and society. Specific topics for technical sessions may include, but are not limited to:


  • Ecological design case studies: ecological restoration; ecosystem services definition and valuation;
  • Stream restoration; wetland design and restoration; watershed processes and functions;
  • Green infrastructure; low impact development; sustainable urban drainage systems;
  • Urban ecosystems; extreme events; climate change mitigation and adaptation;
  • Phytoremediation; wastewater treatment and resource recovery;
  • Energy, renewable resources, bioenergy; sustainable food systems;
  • Policy, regulation, and management strategies; watershed planning;
  • Integrating ecosystems and society; ecological engineering education and curriculum development


Abstracts for platform presentations will be accepted through April 2, 2018.  A technical program committee will review all abstracts and announce acceptance by the end of April. Poster presentation abstracts will be accepted through April 2018.
